Changes in leave-dates

Hey, just wanted to update you all about what's going on! We'll include this information in our next newsletter, as well, but after we move to Bissau, our newsletters and blogs won't be as similar as they are now, but this is the beginning phase!

We recently had a pretty challenging decision to make. We were registered for a class that was supposed to start on the 13th of September. Jason was going to quit his job for us to attend the class, and we'd leave for Africa after it finished. Last Friday was a day of decision for us. We had to know by then whether we'd be funded enough to leave in October or not. We spent Friday praying and trying to have the best information we could, and ended up deciding that it wouldn't be wise to take the class. Friday was the last day to un-enroll without losing more money, and we did so. Jason will not be quitting his job this month, and we will not be attending our class this month, but hope to be doing all of that next month!

This changes our leave-date, but perhaps only by a month. We could attend the same class in October, if we're funded enough at that time to attend it.

Please pray that we'll have wisdom as we make decisions and that we'll be able to leave soon. Our hearts are so invested in Guinea-Bissau, and we're really looking forward to being able to work there! We appreciate the support from everyone who is praying and giving right now! Anyone else who would be interested in giving, just follow the links on this page, and be sure to put our names on your transaction so it is routed to our account. If everyone on our mailing list decided to pledge an average of $10 a month, we would be able to leave immediately! No amount is too small, and we greatly appreciate your love and support.

We pray for each of you often, and are so blessed to be connected to you through prayer and mutual support. May God bless you!

Website

So I added a History page (which I am really happy with) to our website last week. I also added a statistics page, but I think I am going to redesign how I laid out the information on it. I have found I really enjoy web designing and am sloooooowly getting better at it :)

August and the end of summer

Hello! It's hard to believe it's already August, but at the same time, the summer has been very full and everyone has been really busy! We are now at 50% of our monthly funding! Thank you all so much for your heart and involvement. It's SO encouraging to have you with us.

As we're getting ready to go to Bissau, it is both exciting and a bit nerve-wracking. It's like walking over a hill with very little idea of what's on the other side. There are great and wonderful things awaiting us, but it's never simple when you don't know what those things are! Having people like you who keep in touch with us and pray for us is the most valuable thing we could have. You are like the belay-rope tied to us that helps us know we won't fall. We are looking forward to seeing our relationships with you all grow as we're overseas and we are able to pray for you and you for us, as well. What a neat bond this is!

Each one of you who has spent time talking to us and listening to us has been a great encouragement! Thank you so much! We're just overwhelmed with thanks for each of you who for the blessing you bring to our lives!
